After many delays due to construction problems, weather, and transportation delays, the equipment testing phase of the Beneficial Re-Use project has begun. As of 12-20-99 we are now evaluating microfiltration units from 3 competing companies: Koch Corporation, Pall Corporation, and US Filters/Memcor. All units being tested will be operated continuously until 03-20-00. At the end of this period we will evaluate the data collected through our electronic monitoring and bi-weekly sampling regimen to determine which equipment appears to best meet UAJA's needs. The filtration equipment chosen next undergoes a year long trial to prove that it can continue to filter water at a high purity and do so with minimal cost and maintenance.
